The baseline template includes a large number of settings MCSE 2003, and many of them cannot be simply made into yes or no decisions. You must ensure that modifications to the template follow security policy; however, you might find it difficult to make decisions about all the setting opportunities just by using your security policy. Luckily, there are other resources you can use to make these decisions.
Many organizations have documented their opinions about how security templates might be configured. They even make available copies of their recommended Windows security templates that you can download and use. Sources for security templates and security template settings recommendations include the following:
The "Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Security Guide" is available from Microsoft.
You can download the templates and a document of almost 300 pages that specifies how they fit into the process of securing Windows servers.
Apply a baseline template to all servers, and use incremental templates to adjust security for free practice exams for MCTS specific server roles. Remember that:
If changes are necessary for some server role or are dictated by security policy for some server role but will weaken security, make them in the incremental templates and not in the baseline template.
If changes are dictated or necessary for some server role but strengthen overall security, consider making them in the baseline template. However, if they must then be relaxed for most server roles, they probably do not belong in the baseline template.
This is a good place to restrict access to only those who need it, depending on computer role. Use the High Security recommendation, and make other decisions in the incremental templates. Restricting access further here might cause MCITP study guides free download problems, especially if few server roles really need restrictions.
